I’m using Delphi for application development for about a 10 years now. In last 4 years I have learned and admired C#, thus switched to Visual Studio IDE. Now I feel ready for a new challenge, this time it will be Android.
At first, I have downloaded Eclipse with Android Development Tools plugin, but then a friend of mine said something like “Eclipse sucks man, try IntelliJ!” Well, he was right. IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition is a very convenient and powerful tool with Android support working out of the box. It will take some time though to configure SDKs (ADT plugin does it for you in Eclipse), but after some tweaking with settings I won’t change IDEA for another Java IDE.
